Ferguson Sunday Parkways
Just as I began my drive to work, I noticed they were having Ferguson Sunday Parkways just down Darst from our house. This is one of many fun events Ferguson holds in different neighborhoods throughout the year.
I had forgotten it was coming up, and that it was so close to home. So, I called Yoli and let her know.
First dance recital
The girls first dance recital was a major production.
Found artwork
When I come home from work, I often find books and papers strewn all over the place. Sometimes these papers are fun pieces of artwork. Here are a few I found this morning.
Winter 2012-13 has redeemed itself
Technically it is spring. But if you can overlook that, the Winter of 2012-13 turned out to have several good snowfalls. Yesterday we got about a foot of snow. Last year around this time spring was in full bloom.
Finally, some decent snow in 2013
Yesterday we had a decent snowfall of maybe 5-6 inches in North County. It was regular snow with some sleet and rain on top. Combine that with temperatures slightly above freezing and you have a recipe for sticky snow and slick hills. Perfect for sledding and snow forts.
Young entrepreneurs
Jadzia, Ludi, and Yoli woke up early Saturday morning and headed to the Ferguson Farmers Market to sell some handicrafts for “kids entrepreneur day.”
Jadzia and Ludi got a pretty nice spot at the front of the market. Their booth was between the “Ferguson Youth Initiative” booth and the “Fun Time Donuts” booth.
The girls worked all week to prepare their crafts. Yoli found many ideas online, and they made good use of some supplies Aunt Joyce gave us that had once belonged to my Uncle Chuck.

Me and Ludi sold cards, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. It was a lot of work but I learned math and how you want to be acting to earn money.
We saw a few people we knew like Ms. Rita and her daughter Gina, and Ms. Judi and Mr. Norm.
It was still lots of fun especially when we bought donuts. After that, we had two or three costumers and we left.
But the count of dollars was $36!!!!!!!!!!!!
The market was a little quiet, maybe because of the cool morning, but still it was a nice haul for the girls. They spent $3 on donuts, so they came home with $33.
Being next to the donut booth naturally gave the girls some ideas about what to do with their hard-earned dough (so to speak).

Handy crafters
Jadzia and Ludi have been spending time this week putting together beads, bracelets, necklaces, ghosts and greeting cards.
Why? Because tomorrow kid entrepreneurs get a chance to hawk wares at a booth at the Ferguson Farmers Market.

The reader and the listener
Yoli often tells me about sisterly reading sessions between Ludi and Josie. Ludi pretends to read (or recites what she has memorized) and Josie follows along attentively. One morning Yoli caught one of these cute events on video for your viewing pleasure:
Swimming lessons at the Wabash
This summer we enrolled Jadzia and Ludi in swimming lessons as January-Wabash Park in Ferguson.
